CRICKET.
The return match between the Christchurch and Rangiora Veterans was played on Thursday last at Rangiora. Tire game resulted in a win for the home team by eight wickets and two runs. Christchurch scored 59 and 103 (Palairet 22, Murphy 18, Wood 17, Blake 15, Owen 14, Archer 12 and Cuthbert 11). Rangiora made 140 and 24 for one wicket (Mason, retired, 63, W. Banks 33. Judson 15, Croft 14 and 12). For Christchurch Wood and Goring, and for Rangiora W. T. Wilson (eight wickets for 22 runs) and Mason, bowled best.
