THE LATE MR BOYD THOMSON
At the inquest on the body of the late Mr Boyd Thomson, held at Temuka on Thursday, the jury returned a verdict of accidentally drowned, with a rider commending the action of Mr Frank Brown, who witnessed the accident, and crossed the Rangitata in his boat three or four times at places where other onlookers consider that he repeatedly risked his own life, Unhappily, his efforts to save Mr Thomson were unavailing, but he was able t.o materially assist Constable Cassidy in bis search for the body, which came ashore about eight o’clock at night. Members of the South Canterbury Acclimatisation. Society acted as pall-bearers at the funeral, and there were present many old identities, as well as general friends of the family.
