A CASE OF CRUELTY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l should like, through your correspondence columns to draw the attention of the police authorities to the fact that in the; one time gravel pit near Wilson's Bridge is a horse, which, apparently, is being starved to death. It has for some weeks past been too lame to walk amongst the holes and pitfalls with which it is sursounded, and it has now been reduced to a veritable bag of bones, scarcely able to stand. It is, moreover, covered with running sores, around which the flies swarm and irritate the poor beast beyond degree. I think that it is high time that th« poli-e interfered and pijt an end to such gross crueltv. —I am, etc., SOLITAIRE.
