A deputation from the Synod of Otago and Southland, and the ministers and elders sitting for the first time, was welcomed by the Moderator. The report iof the Scholarships’ Committee was adopted. The Maori Mission report was read, and adopted, authorising the committee among other things to take the necessary steps to the employment of another agent in the King Country. The church extension report was read, showing the funds to be in a flourishing condition. A committee was appointed to deal with the various petitions, and the applications for admission to the ministry of the Church. The delegates are to be taken for a trip up the river in the morning.
