The Government is supplying the immediate needs of the sufferers from the bush fires. Details are slowly coming to hand. In the°Hamilton district, sixty thousand acres rtf grass, many sheep, and stacks of bagged grain were burned. In th© Yea district two hundred square miles of grass, and over three thousand sheep were lost. At th© Boggy Creek settlement twelve out of twenty residences, the post office, State school, and creamery were demolished. Great damage was effected in th© Wangaratta district, where many settlers are homeless. Aluch stock has been lost, and the total damage is estimated/ at between twenty and thirty thousand! poimds.
