At the inquest touching the death oi Emma Biddle, aged thirty, at Te Araroa, a; verdict was returned to the effect that de*; ceased died from the effects of carbolic acid)taken while in a fit of temporary insanity, j An inquiry was held to-day by the Collector of Customs into the stability of the ship Grace Harwar, which recently had a severe experience on a passage up the coast.; All the evidence went to show tha/t the ballast was sufficient, that the vessel was not' tender but thoroughly stiff, under canvas, and) that more ballast could! not have obviated the damage to the vessel, which was attributed to meeting a tidal w-ave.
