MARKET REPORTS.

GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Favourable weather lias been experienced for harvesting operations during the past few days and work is now being vigorously pushed forward in all directions. Prom all parts of the district the reports are extremely favourable and the appearance ot the paddocks indicates that the yield will be exceedingly good. Rut in many cases farmers are threshing from the stook, and the wisdom of such a course, which lias often been questioned, is this season more than questionable. The season has been so uncertain, and the amount of rain during growth so much above, the average, that wheat especially cannot be in condition for some little time* and .there is little doubt but that millers and exporters will discriminate against early threshings. For the most part millers hold fair stocks of old wheat and therefore business in this is quiet, but any lines- offering receive more consideration than a little Dime back, though prices are practically unchanged. In. oats the export trade for the time is dull and business limited to |eplenishing local stocks. Barley is offering freely and average business is reported, buyers being disposed to operate in. samples showing colour and quality. Cocksfoot is not yet offering, and with the dulness existing in foreign markets prices are not encouraging.
