The following meetings will, be held today :—Canterbury' Agricultural and Pastoral Association Committee, at r.ooms,' Hereford -Street, 2.30 p.m. ; -North Canterbury District Charitable Aid Board, at offices, Armagh Street, 2.30 p.m.; public meeting to discuss question of procuring' a recreationground for St Albans, at iSfc -Matfhew.'s Schoolroom, 8 p.m.. ; North Canterbury Centre League of Wheelmen,' •. Clarendon Hotel, 8 p.m. . At:St Paul's Schoolroom at Papanui this evening a social gathering will he-held to; bid farewell to the Rev H. T. Purchas:, .who, is leaving the district. At the Sydenham Mission Hall this evening . the Macdonald-Fraser Scotch Conceit Company will give an entertainment for the benefit of the family of the late Frederick Mantell.
The annual excursion,of the West Christchurch School will be held on Friday. The children and friends will leave for Rakaia, by special trains, and the- picnic will take place in the Domain there. The annual meeting of subscribers to the Papariui Library will be held at 7.30 p.m. on Friday. Id has been decided' by the employees oi James Clegg's Christchurch Perambulator Works to hold a picnic at Governor's Bay on Thursday,. Feb. *2l. , Races and other sports will 'be held, and a very enjoyable day is anticipated.
