PERSONAL.
The Chief Justice is still indisposed, and his Court dias been adjourned for a week. Messrs W. D. Campbell, J. St Clair, J. E. Marsh- and F. H. Hamilton, were passengers by the southern express yesterday morning. *His Excellency the Governor, accompanied by Captain. Alexander, went by the north train yesterday morning to Waipara, en route for Stonyhurst, where he will spend two days with Sir George Clifford, _ and afterwards drive to Blenheim, via Cheviot. Mr C. J- Hiorns, manager of the Christchurch "Press" Company; has- been appointed general manager of the" New Zealand Times." Mr G. Laufensori, M.H.R., left for Wellington by the s.s'. Tarawera yesterday evening.
