The final match of the season between the United Drapers and the Farmers’ Cooperative Association was commenced yesterday at Lancaster Park. So far the Drapers have the best of the game. H. Strange, of the Drapers, was the only one to reach double figures in the first innings. The following are the scores: —Drapers 48 and 72.f0r five wickets (H. Strange 16 and 30, Turner 22 not' out); the Farmers’ Association 24. Cederwall, six wickets for 19 ’runs, for the Farmers’ Association, and Fraer, seven for 13, for the Drapers, bowled best.

MELBOURNE CLUB v. SOUTHLAND [Per Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, March 12.

The cricket match Melbourne Cricket Club v. a Southland Fifteen was concluded early to-day. The visitors, with the score at 201, resumed, MTlraith making 5, Irwin and Cave 1 each, Jennings 30 not out, the innings closing for 223. Howden took three wickets for 9 runs. Southland’s second innings was- a .poor exhibition, the total being 35. Sffjt’ to score, and three made a single ; egch; f.Howden 9 and Burke 7 were the highest scorers. The visitors won by an innings and 118 runs. They played a second, innings for the entertainment of the spectators, making 135. The visiting team speak in gratifying terms of the hospitality extended in New Zealand. There being no steamer to Melbourne this week, they will visit the Lake district, returning on Monday.
