MASONIC.

The installation of Bro BL J. Hopkins aa W.M. of the Lodge of Concord, No. 59, was performed by the officers of the Grand Lodge in the Masonic Hall, at Papanui, oil Tuesday. The number of visitors was large, and included members of the District Grand Lodge, E'.C. The following officers were invested: —W.M., Bro H. J: Hopkins;. 1.P.M., Bro H. O. Fenton; S.W.* Bro A. H. Webb; J. W., Bro. F. Jones;] treasurer, Bro D. Buntin, P.M. ; secretary, Bro C. W. Garrard; .chaplain, Bro* Rev H. T. Purchas.; . S.D., Bra Rev J. ML Simpson; J.D., Bro J.i Ferguson; D.C., Bro W.; J. Jackson, P.M.; 1.G., Bro J. Longman ; Tyler, Br» George May; stewards, Bros W. H. .Allan and W. H. Young. A handsome P.M.i jewel was presented to W. Bro H. O- Fenton, P.G.0., as a memento of his. term of office. A large choir, headed by members of the Canterbury Kilwinning Lodge, Lyit-i telton, with Bro. Whittingham at the organ; gave a spirited rendering of the musicalportions of the ceremony. A banquet laid in the Town Hall, where the . usualtoasts were honoured, and a capital musical programme was gone through.' Farewell was said to Bro Fenton, who is leaving,for England, and his health, and that of Bin Colonel Francis, were drunk.
