ANTERBURY ATHLETIC AND CYCLING CLUB.

A meeting of the committee of this club was held on Tuesday evening ; present Messrs G. E. Good (chairman), J. F. Best, P.* MTvechnie, G. Biltcliffe,. I. Montague, H. Thompson,; WV Walden, P; Hallenstein, G. Berry, and H. Killner. Messrs E. Jones and Sons submitted a design for badges, which' was accepted, and the Secretary was. instructed- to arrange for a number to. be executed at once. Members in charge of billiard and euchre tournaments reported satisfactory progress.' The billiard handicap had been received, and the first round drawn. A donation of a silver-mounted cigarette case as second prize in the billiard tournament was received from Mr E, C. Brown. , The captain reported that Mr M’Coombs was prepared to give a paper on “ Vegetarianism and Athletics,” and the committee arranged Friday, July 28, as the evening when the paper should be read. It was decided that the Literary and Debating Society should be started on night. The Secretary was instructed to; thank Messrs M’Oorrnack and Pugh for a donation of pictures. A vote of thanks was also accorded to Mr I. Montague for a donation of pictures. The' Secretary was instructed to procm’6 quoits and n table for the use of members, and to arrange for a shooting gallery.
