THE RITUALISTIC MOVEMENT.
CHARGES AGAINST CLERGYMEN.; United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, May 8. The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have commenced hearing ritual cases against the Rev J. Westall, of St. Cuthbert’s Church, Kensington, and the Rev Edward Rain, of Norwich, who are cited for using incense lights during Service, thereby disregarding the advice of their respective bishops. LONDON, May 9. Lord Salisbury, in a letter to the Liverpool Conservative Association, made reference to Ritualism, He pointed ont that great dangers and evils were possible unless the discipline which had been so seriously impaired was restored. Tho-effort's of the bishops towards a sounder condition of things and restoring respect for the law deserved the hearty support of all churchmen.
