MODEL YACHT CLUB.
On Saturday the final heat for Mr W. Reece’s prize was sailed off at’ Victoria Lake. The wind was from the novtn, and unsatisfactory. The trees sheltered, the water' at the east end and caused a, calm. Several boats turned and sailed, hack before completing their course. The Transit and Anemone were especially unfortunate. Mr Beanland’s Gem was first, Mr Triggs’s Mayflower second and Mr Garrard’s Anemone third. The first heat in the new race by points was then sailed. Seven boats started. The Skipper had the misfortune, when leading, to turn hack. Mr Hurt’s Mona was first, Mr Beanland’s Gem second, and Mr Mason’s Skipper third. The next heat will be sailed next Saturday.
