United Press Association—By Electric • Telegraph—Copyright. AN INTERESTING CEREMONY. SYDNEY, May 7. . Kurnel, in Botany Bay, the first Landingplace of Captain Cook, was yesterday dedicated. The public ceremony was performed by the Governor, in the presence of a brilliant gathering. One hundred and'twentyfive years ago Captain Cook unfurled the British flag at this spot; eighteen years later Governor Phillip performed a similar ceremony, and yesterday, for the third time, Admiral Pearson unfurled the flag, H.M.S. Goldfinch firing a salute. HOSPITAL SATURDAY. The Hospital Saturday collections in the city and suburbs totalled £3728, nearly £BOO more than those of last year. A CONFESSION. Purcell, a sailor of the Royal Arthur, was found floating in the harbour nearly a year ago. At a meeting of the Kauri Timber Company, a resolution , was adopted authorising, the. issue of £275,000 worth of debentures by mortgage, or uncalled capital, or in any other manner that the directors may consider expedient. A quarter of a million worth of debentures will mature in London in July, and the new issue is intended for renewal purposes.
