The new scries of wool sales opened with hesitating competition. Cross-breds were 6 per cent and merinoes at par to 5 per cent lower than the closing sales of the , last series.

The total quantity available, including wool held over from last series, is 183,000 bales, 25,000 bales of which have been forwarded to the manufacturing districts direct.
