Hot winds have played havoc with the crops, and there are deplorable accounts from the Mallee district. ADELAIDE, Oct. 29.
Further good rains, almost general, will prove the salvation of a large area of crops, but it is feared that in some districts they are too far gone.
SYDNEY, Oct. 29. There is a sudden cold change, and snow is lying on the mountains. BRISBANE, Oct. 29. The weather is intensely hot, and there are destructive bush fires in the country.
