DISCOVERY OF WRECKAGE.
[Per Press Association.l WELLINGTON, August 22. The only vessel to which any calamity, such as is suggested by the wreckage on the east coast, is likely to have happened is the Italian barque Prosper© Padre, 131 days from New York; but even this is a mere conjecture. Constables have been despatched to make further investigations, A constable who visited the East Coast reports that he was unable to find any wreckage except a few apples and oranges.
