ENTERTAINMENTS.

The entertainment at St Mark’s, Opawa, last night, was a great success, the building being crowded. Mrs Howie, Misses A. Lake andE. Davie, and Messrs C. F. Turner and G. E. March contributed excellent songs. Mr H. H. Loughnan received a double encore for his violoncello solo,.and Mrs and Miss Wilding played the “ Tarantelle Eaffa” as a pianoforte duet excellently. A two-part comedy, entitled “ Breaking the Ice,” concluded the entertainment. ■ The employees of Messrs J. Baliantyne and Co.' held'a “social” in Hobbs’s Buildings on Thursday' evening. During the evening Mr Hayes, who is leaving for England, ■.was presented with a rug and photo-frame, by his’ fellow .employees. At Kirwee, on Saturday evening, Mr E. S. Ramsay, who is ; leaving the district, was . entertained at a. social gathering. During the evening Miss G.
