IMPERIAL RIFLES. The first annual general meeting of the Imperial 'Rifles was held at their orderlyroom .last night,. Captain Charlewood presided., Lieutenants Marciel and Holderness were present, and fifty-four rank and file. Captain Charlewood announced that he would give £5 for- shooting prizes, and the officers decided to give a like amount. At' a' ‘meeting of the F Battery of AisUl®*y last' night the following resolution was carried: under the present circumstances considers it unpatriotic to disband, and will therefore carry on as. an infantry company, as ordered; that representation be made to the Defence Department that if a fresh battery of artillery be required the claims of the F Battery should receive special consideration.” The battery, which has been in existence for thirty years, will in future be known as the Napier Guards.
