During Sunday night the crops in North Canterbury had the benefit of a nice rain, which commenced at six o’clock and con-, tinned until nearly daylight the next morning. It will do a great deal of good to tho late crops, which are now well forward in ear, and also to the beans-and potatoes. The latter will be a very poor crop if heavy rain does not soon come.
