I Per Press Association,! WELLINGTON, Sept. 7. The New Zealand Cycling Touring Club has elected the following vice-presi-dents :—Canterbury, .Mr J. B. Fisher; Otago, Dr Batchelor ; Southland, Mr C. E. Edmunds; Hawke’s Bay, Mr J. W. Carlisle; Wellington, Sir Eohert Stout; Auckland, Mr G. D. Ingall; Westland, Dr Macandrew ; Marlborough, Dr Cleghorn. The election of president was deferred. A meeting was held on Monday night, at the Eoyal George Hotel, for the purpose of considering the advisableness of forming a cycling club for Linwood. Mr G. Marshall presided, and it was unanimously decided to form a club, to be called the Linwood Cycling Club, and to affiliate to the League of New Zealand Wheelmen. The following officers were elected :—President, Mr A. Marshall (Mayor of Linwood); vice-presi-dents, Messrs J. E. Brunt, G. Marshall, J. ,W. Walker and T. Beresford; treasurer, Mr G. Marshall; secretary, Hr T. Eeid ; committee, Messrs Eestieaux, Mole, Marshall, Hayden, H. C. Haydon, Barrett; Walker, Vizer and Taylor. A large number have already joined the club, including several ladies, and the number is expected to be considerably increased before the next meeting., . A special meeting of the Pioneer Bicycle Club will be held this evening, at eight o’clock, to consider the amalgamation scheme of the New Zealand Cyclists’ Alliance and League of New Zealand Wheelmen. The opening run of the season takes place on Thursday. The destination is Yaldhursfc, leaving the clubroojn at 7 p.m.
