BURNHAM RUNAWAYS.
On Monday afternoon Consfcables< Crawford and Rings met two lads at Waimataitai, near Timaru, whose (appearance and confused and blundering! answers: to questions suggested suspicions. The lads were taken to the police station,.whef® they confessed that they were truantsfrom Burnham, and they stated that they left the institution last Thursday. A telegram to the master elicited a reply that four boys levanted on Thursday. The two in custody at Timaru, said that the other two had gone to Christchurch, while they sob out for Dunedin; They were returned to the school yesterday! Both the boys were committed from the North Island "about nine months;ago.
