NOVEMBER SHOW.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —I am sorry to observe from the recent meeting of the Show Grounds
Committee that the annual unpleasantness o wards the Women’s Christian Tem..•jrance Union is still alive. It is a pity your reporter , did „ not give the objections raised against affording support on behalf of the public to the Women’s Christian Temperance Union’s request for more accommodation., As one of the oldest visitors, one who attended the show when it was held in Latimer Square, and also an office-bearer for some time, I can vouch for the increased appreciation of the endeavours of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union to supply a public want. What can Messrs J. Deans and F. A. Archer see to object as reported F I should much like to see this subject threshed out and set at rest once for all. At present it only obstructs the efforts of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. In two short months the show willbe oh. —I am, &c„ , , NO OBSTRUCTION. Christchurch, Sept, 6, 1897. r'• - ■
