AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the .Waimate Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held on Saturday, when there was a good attendance and Mr J. H. Mitchell presided. Correspondence was read from tho lessee of the Show Grounds regarding the condition of fences. The Ground Committee were instructed to inspect and report at next meeting. It was resolved to forward a letter of sympathy and condolence to the widow of the late Mr William Patterson, who had been connected with the society since its inauguration. Class stewards were appointed, and the Secretary was instructed to write to several gentlemen asking them to act as judges. A new plan in judging dairy produce, scones, &c., was decided upon, and two lady judges were nominated for the section. It was resolved to hold the annual horse parade on Saturday, Oct. 3. The meeting then terminated.
