FProm; Our Correspondent,] L WELLINGTON, Judy 29. _ At a meeting of members of the Civil Service, held to-night, it was decided that the time was inopportune' fpr the formation of Civil Service Cot.operative Stores. This action, it is understood, has been taken in consequence of the issue of the following circular to secretaries, undersecretaries, and heads of departments i “To let it be known to the members of the Civil Service that the Government think it undesirable and impolitic that any steps should be taken to form a Civil'Service Cooperative Store.—H. Pollen, for Colonial Secretary.” . ... The Acclimatisation Societies in Wellington, Wanganui, Taranaki ana Nelson districts have subscribed -£220 for the purpose of sending an experienced person to England to purchase English foreign game birds to stock, a game preserve, which it is proposed to institute on three hundred acres of forest reserve at Paikakariki, on the west coast of the Wellington province. The matter is to he discussed at a meeting of the Wellington Acclimatisation Society next Thursday,
