The Supreme Court made an order by consent for the winding up of the Kapai Vermont Gold-mining Company, and appointed an official liquidator. The Crown Lands Board granted Messrs Basley and Bluck, Auckland, a mineral lease of 400 acres in tho Waiotapu Valley to mine for petroleum.

A telegram has been received by the Bell Hill Gold-mining and Sluicing Company from the company’s manager, stating that sluicing operations were to be started at the claim yesterday.
