[Per Press Association.] LONDON, Feb. 7. Mr Crosby, a leading produce expert, considers that it is impossible for Australia to compete with French tinned and bottled fruit in Europe. SYDNEY, Feb. 8. A steamer has arrived from Portland, Oregon, with a cargo of 55,000 bags of flour and 4000 bags of wheat. SHIPPING. LONDON, Feb. 6. The Eimutaka arrived at Plymouth today, all well. The Tongariro left Plymouth to-day, loaded for Wellington and Canterbury. She takes 2500 tons of cargo and eighty-five passengers.
