[Pee Press Association.] MELBOURNE, Jan. 30. Fitzroy has been scratched for the Newmarket Handicap. The annual meeting of the North Canterbury. Jockey Club was, to hare been held on. Friday night, but owing to the absence of the. treasurer through illness, and other prominent members through unavoidable causes, it was decided to adjourn for a week. Nominations for the Stewards’ Stakes, First Hurdle Eace, Second Hurdle Eace, Harrison Stakes, Nursery Handicap, Autumn Handicap, Farewell Handicap' and Hack Eace, to bo decided at the Wanganui Jockey-Club's Autumn Meeting, ~ Egmonb Eacifig Club’s Summer Meeting must be made to-day. -
