[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, March 28. Mr Button, M.H.K., addressed his constituents last night, and received a vote of thanks and confidence. Mr Button said that when he wont to Parliament he had promised if anything arose with regard to bank legislation, he would take no part in it. He had kept that promise, and had not voted on such matters ono way or tho other. As solicitor to tho Bank of New Zealand, however, ho must give credit to tho Directors for being loyal to the bank and doing their best .for the good of the colony. Tho public had no idea of tho stand-up fight they had had from Monday morning till Friday afternoon.
