THE PAYMENT OF JURORS’ BILL.

TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —It appears that objection is raised to Mr W. W. Collins’s sensible Bill providing for the payment of jurors on account of the expense. Why don’t they object to the payment of judges, lawyers and policemen P The question to me is, is it right that jurors should be paid ? If it is right then by all means let them be paid regardless of expense. I should like Mr Collins’s hands to be strengthened on this subject by a strong expression of opinion by those who object to having to lose their time by attending courts of justice. As a taxpayer, and one who believes in British fair play, I am quite willing to pay my share of the extra expense. Whilst writing on this subject I should like to say that I think Mr Collins has fixed too low a figure, as I thiuk ten shillings par day is little enough for jurors.—l am, &c., PAIR PLAY.
