Aa all to-day’s fixtures under the Canterbury Rugby Union have been postponed, footballers throughout the province will he afforded an opportunity of witnessing the Kdikorai-Linwood match at Lancaster Park this afternoon. The Kaikorai senior team ’won the championship of O tago last year, and this year it has won all its matches. The Linwood team, as footballers are aware, is leading with Merivale for the local championship, and, like the Kaikorai team, includes a number of old representative players in its ranks. The match has created a considerable amount of interest, and it is expected that it will furnish a really good game. Play will commence at three o’clock punctually. The north train baa been delayed till 5.15 p.m., to enable visitors from the country to see the match from start to finish. The Kaikorai team arrived from Dunedin by the express last evening, and was met at the railway station by a large number of members of the Linwood Club and other footballers, and accorded a hearty reception. The following will represent Linwood* Full back. Orchard; three-quarters, O’Brien, Hobbs, Stringer; half-backs. Price and Gordon; forwards, Glennie, Irvins, Ward, Fanning, Kerr, M’Namara, Saunders, Stapleton and Pearce.

A team from the Christchurch Clnb visited Lincoln College yesterday, and after a fast and open game defeated the Collegians by twenty-three points to ten. For the winners L. Harley ocored a try and potted a goal, F. Harley scored two tries and S. Styche two trios; L. Appleby converted two of them. For the College Bourne and G. Marshall scored tries, tho latter converting both of them. A match was played at Kaiapoi yesterday between the St Albans Second and Kaiapoi Fourth, and resulted in a draw, each side scoring a try. Timaru Colonials beat Oamaru Excelsior by ten to Tit 3. Waihi beat Waimate(aoap match) by eight-to nil, DUNEDIN, Mat 24. Three football matches were played today. Tho Athletics (Oamaru) met the Zmg&xi-Richmond Club, the Zingari winning by thirty-three points to three. The match between the Christchurch Club and the Pirates was won by the Pirates by six points (two tries) to nil. The Christ church team only arrived a few hours before play, and as they suffered a good deal from seasickness, were scarcely in the best condition for play. In a match under Association rules, between Christchurch and Eoslyn, the Boslya team won by eight goals to-one goal.
