Aa usual on Thursdays, business yesterday was quiet, few fanners having been in town. The aspect of the wheat market remains unchanged, holders asking fall prices. In other lines not much was done. The chief interest is centred in clover seed, the bulk of which will in a week or two have passed into second hands. Sales of feed parcels of barley are reported at an advance on previous quotations. Oats. —Prime milling la 4|d to Is sd, Duns Is 3d to Is 4d, stout feed la 3d to 2a 4d, Tartars and black Is 3sd to la 4d. Bablet.— Malting 2s 6d to 2s 9d. second quality 2a 3d to 2s 6d, feed la 6d to la 9d, Cape barley Is 6d to la 9d. Beans are difficult to sell. Present ■values remain at, say. Is lid to 2s; for some lines 2a 2d is asked, without finding buyers. . ■ • ; Peas.— Blue Prussian ate worth 2s to 2a 3d (no demand). Partridge 2s to 2s 2d, feed sorts la lOd to 2s. FiOtra.—Millers quote roller £B, stone ifi7los, sharps £4, bran £2 loa. Oatmeal ASB to JEB ss. Potatoes.— Quotations _ are nominally JBa to 20a at country stations. Cloves.— Extra choice may be quoted'at 6d, but 5Jd more nearly represents current value, whilst inferior grades ate worth ■proportionately less. Onions are quoted at Bos to 955, sacks .included. ■ Daibt Peodttce.— Butter; Factory oa to 9d, dairy 6d to 8d; cheese 3Jd to 4d, small loaf do 4Jd. The above are prices paid to farmers f.o.b.
