[Pbk. Press Association. I AUCKLAND, Mat Id. An influential deputation waited on Sis.' P, Buckley this morning with reference to the Wednesday half-holiday. The deputation waa introduced by Mr Button, M.H.R. Messrs Wood and Carr having represented to the Attoiney-Goueral the great hardship suffered by tradesmen, under thoAcfc, Sir P. Buckley was asked to ueo his influence with the Government in the direction of staying proceedings against those who open on Saturday afternoons. Several members cf the deputation having spoken. Sir Patrick, in his reply, stated that it was not the desire of the Government to injure any man or body of tradesmen, but it waa his duty to see the law carried out. He would at once communicate to the Premier and Minister of Labour the facts ao brought before faia notice by tho deputation. Mr Ferguson, inspector nacter the Act, has determined to lay informations ngainet certain tradesmen for breaches of the Shop Hours Act on Saturday- iast. Summoassa will bo issued during the next few days.
