AQUATIC.
[Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Mat 13. At a meeting of the Otago Rowing Association to-night it was decided to make a systematic canvass to obtain funds for an eight-oar boat. It was resolved — “ That this Association is of opinion that interprovincial races to be rowed in eights should be controlled by the respective provinces, as far as possible, in the same manner as football, cricket, &c., and that all receipts should be taken by the local association in the district in which the race takes place, a copy of the motion to be sent to the New Zealand Amateur Eowing Association as a suggestion.” The Union Eowing Club strongly discourages for the present the proposal to introduce eight-oared rowing in the colony. It "is thought that while the depression continues the expense involved would bo too great for clubs to bear.
