Though the weather was again bad in the morning it cleared up at midday, and tha first coursing meeting of tha season was brought to a close. The fourth round of tha Challenge Stakes narrowed the isaiie down to Sbylcck, tho Auckland dog, and three Australian dogs. In the final Shylock, the winner of last year’s stakes, baas Goldsmith both in pace and work. The victory was well received. The Australian dog, Bloomer, won the Consolation, and another of the contingent, Clements Tonic, divided the Bight Dog Stakes with Prefix. Tha following arc derails CHALLENGE STAKES, for 58 all-aged dogs at £5 each. Winner £l5O, also gold medal presented ! by Mr B.
