CHRYSANTHEMUM AND PBUIT SHOW.

The Addington Horticultural Society is to be congratnlotod on tho success of its first chrysanthemum and fruit show which was held in tho Oddfollowo’ Hall, Addington, yesterday. There was a fine show of chrysanthemums, the exhibits cent by Messrs E. E. M. Evans, J. Craw, D. Craw, A. Cast, J. Hand and Q. W. Bishop being particularly good. Mr Evans was the most successful prize-taker in Class A, his blooms being quite as good aa those shown by blip at tho Christchurch Society's show. His specimen of “ Lord Amentia” was awarded the prize for tho premier incurved Japanese bloom m tbo show, and his stand of twelve incurved varieties was greatly admired. •He D. Craw exhibited a beautiful bloom of “ Goldoa Wedding,” and Mr J. Hep worth, who was awarded Hr Austin’s special prize, a splendid group of-chrysanthemums, which were tastefully arranged in pots on the stage. Tho other exhibits of chrysanthemums reflected credit on tho exhibitors. The fruit, especially the apples, was very good, Mr W. Jones and Mr Proctor judged the exhibits, and credit is duo to tho officers of tha Society for their efforts to make tho chow a success. A large number of visitors attended tbo show during the day, and despite the unfavourable weather iu tho evening the hall was filled.
