MEDICAL CONGRESS.

The Medical Congress mat at 4 p,m. yesterday; present—Dra Jennings (president, in the chair), Thomas, Symes, Chappell, Purdy, Pollen, Barnett, Cressy, Batchelor, De Lisle, Fulton, Lindo Ferguson, Hanning, Irving and MutrayAynsley (lion secretary). It was resolved to form a Medical Defence Union, Dr Irving being appointed hon secretary. Dr Manning hori treasurer, and Dra Thomas, Mortou Anderson, Jennings and Murray-Ayaeley the Central Committee. The President and Secretary of each branch of the Medical Association were appointed to act as the local officers of the union. It was resolved that all medical practitioners not members of the Medical Association should bo elected by ballot, in order to become participators in the benefits of the union. Stops were taken by the Congress to have the Aesociation incorporated as_ the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association. Dr Murray-Aynslay was appointsd temporary hoa secretary. The remainder of ,the session was devoted to council work, the Congress adjourning at G. 30 p.m. Last evening the annual dinner ia connection with the conference wae held. To-day tho members-will pay a vieit to the sewage farm. '
