the emotions. rSpBCiAL to Press Association.! LONDON, March's. A severe struggle ensued between the Moderates and Progressives at yesterday’s London County Council election. The Moderates had a sweeping victory, and many of the divisions have gone over to them entirely. They secured twenty-two seats formerly held by their opponents, while the Progressionists secured only one Moderate seat. The complete result will probably be known on Monday, as in four divisions the counting baa not concluded. Tbe Progressive Party favours municipal gas and waterworks, control of trams, the liquor traffic and theatres, and the equalising of votes and unification of authority. The Moderates oppose collectivism.
