RIFLE SHOOTING.
EANGIORA SIFLES v. A COMPANY. On Saturday afternoon teams representing the Eangiora Eiflea and the A Company, Christchurch, tried conclusions at the Eangiora butts, and the home team won by 37 points. There were ton a eide, and five of each team fired with Martini rifles, while the other half used Sniders. Seven shots were fired at each range, and the scores we re :—Martini rifles—Eangiora: Colour-Sergeant Tyler, 200yds 30, 300yds 25,5Q0yda 29—84; Private Hayman SO, 25, 27—82; Lieutenant d’Auvergne 33, 25, 23—80; Corporal Whit ham 21,28, 27 76; Corporal Gulliver 28, 26, 10—64; total 386. A Company: Sergeant Parker 32, 28,30 —90; Private Jackson 27, 28, 29 84; Corporal Nicholas 28, 24, 53—65; Private Harry 23, 19, 26—68; Corporal TrebilCock 29, 20, 15—64; total 381. Snider rifles—Eangiora: Corporal Jones 30, 26, 25—81; Private Geddis 30,25, 21— 76; Sergeant d’Auvergne 27, 26, 19—72; Sergeant Gulliver 27,19,19—63; Sergeant Jordan 24, 26, 8—58; total 350. A Company : Private Dodd 26, 24. 17 Private Cork 30, 20, 13—63 ; Private Bourdot 27, 25, 11—63; Private Sutherland 21, 21,17—59; Private Collins 24, 21, 11—56 ; total 308. Grand totals—Eangiora 736, A Company 689. HONORARY RESERVE CORPS. The last of lhe series of bronze medal competitions took place at the corps range; Cashmere, on Saturday afternoon. Private W. B. Scott was tho winner of the medal. Sergeant Wekelin was second and Private Edwin Fox third, both taking prizes.
