UNITED METHODIST FREE CHURCHES.

ANNUAL DISTEICT MEETING. The meeting resumed on Saturday at 10 a.m. The whole of the morning’s sitting was occupied with the consideration of matters of a ministerial character and the report of the Stationing Committee on the third draft of stations. Business not being very complete, it was decided to meet again on Tuesday at 10 a.m. A. telegram was received from the Wesleyan Conference, reciprocating fraternal greetings. A break of an interesting character occurred in the proceedings on Saturday, when the members of the meeting were photographed in a group in front of the church. At lunch Mr J. Vile, of Pahiatua, on behalf of the visitors, took advantage of the opportunity to refer to the handsome manner in which they had been entertained by their respective hosts and the ladies connected with the Christchurch churches. Mr J. A. Flasher suitably acknowledged the kindly expressions on behalf of the ladies. On Saturday afternoon a garden party was held at Mrs Flesher’s residence, Avebury, Richmond. There was a large attendance, about two hundred persons being present, and the arrangements proved very successful. Games of various kinds were indulged in until 5,30 p.m., when tea was provided on the lawn. The party broke up shortly before dusk, every one having thoroughly enjoyed the outing.
