THE MAORI KING’S CATTLE. £Speciaxi to Press Association,] LONDON, Feb. 27. The Maori King called at Vigo Bay, in Spain, and her cattle -will therefore not be allowed to land at Gravesend. They will have to be slaughtered on board. Mr Pritchard Moore is making a strong appeal to Government to permit them to be landed. Sir S. Samuel endorsed Mr Pritchard Moore’s request, but the 'Board of Agriculture replied that it was - impossible to relax the rules. The statement in a cable message of Feb. 19 that a large portion 'of the Kaikoura’a mutton proved to be damaged, was incorrect. The New. Zealand Shipping Company has received a cable message from its London office stating that the cargo turned out in exceptionally good order, and that there is no truth in the assertion that a large part was damaged. DUNEDIN WOOL SALE. DUNEDIN, Fsß.r2B. The fourth wool sale, of the season was hold to-day, when about 1450 bales wore offered. There was a large muster of buyers and spirited competition. Compared with the last sales the prices for half and cross-bred were from par to $d higher; merinos, $d to $d higher; while quotations for locks and pieces were about the same.
