The Fijian team of cricketers left for Fiji by the Taviuni to-day. With regard to the treatment received from cricketers in the different provinces visited, the members of the team speak in high terms. A meeting of the Junior Cup Committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association was held at the Clarendon Hotel last night, when it was decided to continue junior matches next Saturday. The Boys’ High School protested against the action of the Warehousemen in playing Junior Cup players in the President’s Cup match with the school team on Deo. 17. The match was declared null and void. The Midland Club requested the committee to order its Junior Cup match with the United to be played over again, but after discussion the protest was dismissed. A match, Fuhrmann’s Furnishing Warehouse v. New Brighton, was played at New Brighton yesterday, and resulted in a win for the former by an innings and 89 runs. The following are the scores: —Fuhrmaan’e 139 (Richards 62, Cusack 44, Reay 15), New Brighton 29 and 21, Presley 18 and 9 being the only batsman to trouble the bowling of Harcomb, Marshall, Cusack and Richards. For New Brighton Prebble and Slater were the most successful bowlers.

At Hagley Perk, on Wednesday, the of Christchurch met the Veteran Cricketers in their annual match, which resulted in a win for the Veterans by 15 runs. The scores were—Veterans, 75 ; Fruiterers, 60. A team representing Messrs Strange and Co., Christchurch, visited Kaiapoi yesterday, and played a match with the Kaiapoi Thursday Afternoon Team. The match was decided on the first innings, in favour of Kaiapoi by 33 runs, the scores being—Kaiapoi 101, Messrs Strange and Co. 68.

The annual match between teams representing Messrs Manning and Co. and the Crown Brewery was played yesterday at Hagley Park, and resulted in a win for Manning and Co. by an innings and 48 runs. Scores:—Manning and Co. 122 (Constable 74 and Francis 32); Crown Brewery 12 and 62 (Louisson, jua., 22, Faulkner 12 and Money 11). Pengelly bowled well for the winners, as did King for the losers.

A cricket match between the Boys’ High School and the native boys of the Melanesian Mission schooner was played yesterday at Hagley Park in the presence of a large number of spectators, and resulted in a win for the natives. Scores:— Melanesian Mission Boys 93 (Patutau 35 and Mapu 13) ; Boys’ High School 54 (Sims 21, Ryan 18 and C. Harper 12.) Tauvaga and Patutau bowled well for the Melanesians, as did Sims and E. Harper fcr the School.

Upper Eiccarton, on Hagley Park—Wynn-Stan-ley, Hebden, M’Guire, Patterson, Russell, Schneider (2), Bramley, Soper and Barry; emergencies Bennetts, Cotton and Yetdon.
