There was a large attendance, and the sum of £4077 was passed through the totalizator. Won by half a length Time—lmin 25isec, Dividend —£3 19/?. HEBETATING A HACK PACING CLUB. WELLINGTON, Jan. 26. The Heretaunga Hack Pacing Club hold its race meeting at the Hutt racecourse to-day. The weather was fine, and about one thousand people were present. The sum of £3905 was passed through the totalisator. The fallowing are results Trial Handicap, of 20 sovs; one mile and a furlong—l 76 Trickery Ost, (M’Taggart),l; 42 Scrip 7st, 2; 69 Inverness 7st 41b, 3. 55 King’s Own Sst 71b, 39 Brooklyn 7st 51b, 53 Steel King 7at 41b and 26 Lady Gertrude 7ab also started. Scrip jumped away in front and led along

the back stretch by a dozen lengths, but failed to stay, and was caught sixty yards from home by the favourite, who won by half a length, with Inverness a poor third. Time—2min SJsoc. Dividend—£2 ss,
