OBITUARY.
M. m GIBRS. , [Special to Press Association.] ST PETERSBURG, Jan. 27. The death is announced of M. de Giers, aged seventy-five. [Nicholas Carlovitch. de. Giers, of Swedish origin, was bora on May 9, 1820. Educated in Russia, he early the Imperial service, holding various diplomatic appointments, and winning high honours. In 1875 he was associated the Minister of Foreign Affaire, and two years later was created a Privy Councillor. On Prince Gortohakoff becoming indisposed, M. de Giers acted, for him, and in 1882 became the actual Minister of Foreign Affairs.] '
