AN INDISCREET STRANGER.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Surely tho authorities will take some seeps to stop such disgraceful scenes as that in tho Square on Saturday night. Tho Christchurch people aro singularly mild and law-abiding,*but they will not long submit to Sydney slang being slung at them by a lecturer on prohibition. I fully expected the crowd would resent the insults thrown broadcast and overturn the waggon and its contents. I should not like to sea Christchurch disgraced by a riot caused by an indiscreet stranger.—l am, &c., * LIBERTY, NOT LICENSE.
