Government intends to introduce legislation dealing with private bants. APPROPEfA! lON BILL. Tho Appropriation Bill has passed both Houses. LEAVE OF ABSENCE. ADELAIDE, March 28. Owing to serious illness. Sir J. C. Bray, Agent-General in London, has applied for two months’ leave of absence. It ie considered unlikely that ho will again return to duty. RESIGNATION. BRISBANE, March 29. Owing to private business, the Hon E. B. Forrest has withdrawn from the Agency-General, to which he was recently appointed. THE TASMANIAN PROBATE BILL. HOBART, March 29. The Probate Bill Committee has reduced the tax up to £IOOO from one penny to a half-penny, and made an exemption up to £SOO.
