GRAND LODGE OP NEW ZEALAND. [Per Press Association.] OAMAEU, Jan. 27.
The quarterly communication of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand was held here .last night. Worshipful Bro A. H. Burton, Grand Superintendent of Otago, presiding. There waa a large meeting of officers from all parts of the colony. The report of the Board of Benevolence showed £8 10a expended in this connection. The report or the board of general purposes stated that the Lodges of Colorado and Mississippi had extended fraternal recognition, and nominated Grand representatives ; Bro Thomas Ellison, of Auckland, being nominated as the Grand representative of the Grand Lodge of Colorado. An invitation was extended to the Grand Lodges of Now South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, sad South Australia to attend the annual convocation of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand at Wellington in April next. The removal of the office of the Grand Lodge to Wellington was notified. The quarterly statement of receipts and disbursements showed— Receipts: General fund, £151; benevolent, £3O; widow and orphan special, £5; regalia, £7 ; total. Including balance, £lb0 1 brought forward, £323. Disbursements —General account, .£253; transfers benevolent fund, £3O; regalia, £7 ; widow, £5 ; general, £2B; total, £323. Cash deposits : Benevolent, £554; regalia, £52; widows, £9O; general, £2B. Bro Francis Dillon Ball was nominated to the office of Grand Master. A communication was received from Bro De Renzy, objecting to the nomination of Bro Bell as 'Grand Master, on the ground that he was not a Past Master, It was pointed out by the officers present that it was not necessary for a Grand Master to have been a Past Master, a Fellow Craft Mason could hold such an office. Bro Do Eonzy having - uhliehed a copy of hia letter in the press before sending it the Lodge, it was resolved not to receive it, and to censure Bro De Rejazy £w bis action}
