[Pee Pbses Association.! AUCKLAND, Dec. 13. The New Zealand. Amateur Athletic Association having forbidden its members to compete at the forthcoming Caledonian sports, a deputation to-day protested. It was stated that in every city in the Colony Amateur Athletic Clubs had permitted their men to compete. The matter is to be laid before the Committee of the Auckland Amateur Athletic Club. The Central Committee at Christchurch had endorsed the previous action of the Club, NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 13. The schooner Lily, which was stranded on the North Spit, Waitara river, On Saturday, was floated off at high tide yesterday. WELLINGTON, Dec. 13, At a masting of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Association this evening, the following men were selected to go into training in view of the Championship Meeting, to be held in Dunedin in February:— Messrs Hempton, Nathan, Larkin, Darcy, Wynyard, L. Harley, N. Gurr, Morpeth, M’Gormack, A. Gore, C. Gore, Batger, Stuart, Turnbull, Astill, E. Gray and G. F. Johnston. James Osborne, arrested here on two charges under the Bankruptcy Act, laid against him at Ashburton, has been remanded to Ashburton, to appear there on Friday next. The prisoner was gent south to-day. DUNEDIN, Dec, 13. The Last Chance Company, at Bald Hill, has cleaned up 2930 z. The Bald Hill Flat Company has cleaned up 1230 z.
