The Brunner end Grey Valley Coal Companies, having lost the contract for supplying the New Zealand Shipping Company, just secured by the Mokihinui sad Blackball Com panics (one-half each), the construction of the tramway to the new field is at a standstill until the result of the meeting of Directors, to be held in Dunedin thin week,-is known. As quits JSSOO baa already been opens on the construction, it is probable that the Directors will decide to complete the work. The leaaa of tho Brunner mir.o expires this year, and tho Grey Valley Company has enough in tho latter mine to supply present contracts. DUNEDIN, Dec. 11. Crossan and Gr;y, Bald Hill, have obtained oloz from 24 tone. The Miners’ Association strongly protests against tha way in which leases in perpetuity are being disposed of, and urges that they should be granted on the same conditions as small grazing runs. TheMountsin Race Company, St Bathans, obtained a lift of SOOczs. The Blue Duck Company, Matekanai, obtained SOOOozs for the season.
